The exhibition “Infinite Horizons” features objects, original editions and documents from Jean Malaurie’s Arctic collections. It was opened on the occasion of the inauguration of the refurbished Panhard Pavillon on UVSQ’s science campus in Versailles by Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate, on September 16, 2024.

The exhibition showcases three scientific collections and addresses the issues of discovery, preservation and communication of such collections.

The objects from Jean Malaurie’s collection stem mostly from Greenland. They are accompanied by documents and historical sources as well as images and Jean Malaurie’s own pastels.

The aim is to provide an overview of Malaurie’s collections and scientific as an introduction to Arctic studies and ongoing issues in the circumpolar world.

A number of items in the exhibition will be shown to young students and the general public during the forthcoming Science Days at UVSQ in October.
