Associate Members
Erki Tammiksaar is senior research fellow in history of science at the Estonian University of Life Sciences and associate professor of history of geography at the University of Tartu in Estonia. He is member of the Baltic Historical Commission and German Polar Research Society. His research has initially focused on history of polar research in the world, and especially in the Russian Empire in the 19th century.
Jean-Michel Huctin is associate professor of anthropology at the University of Versailles St-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) / Paris-Saclay in France. Founding member of the research center CEARC ("Cultures, Environments, Arctic, Representations, Climate"), he is also an associated member of the research centers MIARC (Malaurie Institute of Arctic Research, UVSQ) and CARE (Center for Children & Adolescent Research Environment at the University of Greenland).
Olga Lauter is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Anthropology at the University of Texas at El Paso and a PhD student at MIARC/UVSQ/Paris-Saclay under the supervision of Professor Jan Borm and of Associate Professor Alexandra Lavrillier. Her research is focused on urban anthropology in the Arctic. Her other research interests include rural-to-urban migration, co-production of Indigenous and non-Indigenous knowledge, cross-cultural religious experiences, and ethnohistory.
