Joanna Kodzik, Junior Professor at MIARC, has been invited to give an on-line lecture entitled “Humans, Nature and the Climate: Interest in the Arctic in Poland in the 18th century“ by the Centre for Research on Climate Change and the Department of Literature, Culture and Media of the German Countries at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland).

The lecture will take place on-line on Monday, March 27th, 2023 at 6pm CET. The language of the presentation is Polish.

The paper is dedicated to the reception of first-hand knowledge from manuscripts, books and scientific journals in French and German from Greenland, Lapland and Iceland focusing also on climate data provided by the Moravian missionaries and discussed by scholars in Poland.
